Community Arts Advocates is searching for a volunteer lawyer(s), law student(s) or person(s) interest in Free Speech issues to research case law for Street Artists and Performers. Volunteer(s) are also needed to enter and scan court decisions and briefs into digital forms for publication on the internet.

Areas to research include:

• Street performance in public spaces, parks, sidewalks
• Street performance in public spaces under private management and/or private property with public easements (urban malls)
• Street performance on private property which act like public property (malls)
• Use of amplification in public spaces
• Art work, recordings and cds for sale by street artists

Community Arts Advocates is willing to explore the options and feasibility of funding the legal research through grant applications written in collaboration with the selected volunteer(s).

Community Arts Advocates is also willing to explore the options and feasibility of presenting the information for publication in law journals and/or newspapers/magazines.
