Stephen  Baird

Stephen H. Baird is the founder and director of Community Arts Advocates. He has over three decades of performances, arts advocacy and grassroots arts administration experience.

Stephen Baird restructured Club Passim, the historic folk music venue in Cambridge, as a nonprofit organization in 1995-97. He co-founded the Bread & Roses Festival in Lawrence in 1986, founded and directed the Folk Arts Network from 1982-96, published the New England Folk Almanac and Folk Directory from 1982-1996. He produced Jamaica Plain Open Studios and directed the Jamaica Plain Arts Council from 1999-2001.

Cornell Coley

Cornell Coley has worked for 25 years in community development through the arts and education as a producer, coordinator, administrator, fundraiser, performing artist, writer, facilitator and mentor. His fundraising efforts exceeds $2.5 million dollars for the arts, education, youth and community development. He has also developed administrative systems and fundraising offices for his clients. Past clients include the Support Ctrs of MA and RI, Mass. Dept of Education, Dance Umbrella, Jam'nastics, Brazilian Cultural Center, Paige Academy, BNN-TV, Universalist Unitarian Church, the Patric LaCroix Dance Co. and Spontaneous Celebrations.

Chris Connaire

For over three decades Chris Connaire has directed arts, arts service and youth service organizations. She has produced and directed multi-ethnic theatrical productions. She has raised foundation and corporate support as well as recruited and led volunteers.

Chris has consultant clients including the Massachusetts Cultural Council, New England Foundation for the Arts, Programs in the Boston Public High Schools, Central Square Business Assoc., Mystic River Watershed Assoc., and the Girl Scouts. Chris Connaire led the Cambridge Arts Council, a national model city arts agency from 1980-85, was the Albert Einstein Institution Director of Development from 1991-92 and the Stage Director for Streetfeet Womens' Theater Group in 2000. She is currently the Board Chair of the Castle School, a Chapter 766 Residential School.

Barbara Michaels

Barbara Michaels has used the arts to create vivid programming for organizations in diverse fields from public health to neighborhood improvement to direct arts education. She is a former director of Jamaica Plain Open Studios. She has written monthly community newspaper columns on art and artists, curriculum guides for youth, public relations materials, and grants.
